Faceebook is testing Meta Verified, a new subscription package that includes account verification with identity protection and access to increased visibility and support.
Facebook wants to make it easier for creators to build their presence so they can focus on building their community on Instagram and Facebook.
To help aspiring creators grow their presence and build communities faster, Mark Zuckerberg announced today that a new service called Meta Verified will begin testing. Secure your account, access account support, and increase awareness and reach. “We “will begin phased testing in Australia and New Zealand later this week to see which ones are the most valuable. We want Meta Verified to be available worldwide soon” Mark added
Some of the most common requests Facebook receives from creators are broader access to verification and account support, and other features to increase their visibility and reach. Over the past year, Facebook has been looking at ways to unlock access to these features through paid plans.
With Meta Verified, creators get:
A verification badge that proves you are who you say you are and that your account is verified with a government-issued ID.
Increased protection against identity theft with proactive account monitoring against identity thieves who may target individuals with a growing online audience.
For common account issues, reach out to a real person to help you when you need it.
Increase visibility and reach by drawing attention to some areas of the platform, such as search, comments, and recommendations. *
A unique ability to express yourself in a unique way. **
Meta Verified will be available for purchase directly on her Instagram or Facebook in Australia and New Zealand later this week. Users can purchase monthly subscriptions for (USD) $11.99 on web and (USD) $14.99 on iOS and Android. ***
Meta has tested and learned, there are no changes to Instagram and Facebook accounts that have already been verified based on previous requirements including credibility and notoriety. Their long-term goal is to build a subscription service of value to everyone, including creators, businesses, and the community at large. As part of that vision, we are evolving the meaning of the Verified badge to expand access to verification and give more people confidence that the accounts they interact with are genuine.
